Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Slinger (ranked 3170 p4p, 2647 weight class) and Frendy Saputra (ranked 204 p4p, 176 weight class). Slinger's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hail Mary. Saputra has chosen Truckin' as his entrance music. Patrick Slinger had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Slinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frendy Saputra!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Slinger. That's going to slow Saputra down.
Saputra takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Slinger throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Saputra was covering up waiting for the punch and Slinger finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slinger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Saputra is fending him off so far but Slinger persists. Nope, Saputra circles away and we're back to standing.
Slinger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saputra tries to avoid it but Slinger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saputra to the ground. Saputra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slinger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saputra can do to turn this around?
Saputra lunges at Slinger with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Slinger's hand.

A nice side step and Saputra releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Slinger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Saputra suckers Slinger into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Saputra is now in Slinger's guard!

Slinger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Saputra defends it easily.

Slinger has his foot on Saputra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Saputra works his way back into a safe position though.

He's locked it up tight! Saputra's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Slinger picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
