PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Babcock (ranked 1321 p4p, 907 weight class) and Stephen Steve (ranked 174 p4p, 126 weight class). Babcock's entrance music is San Francisco Live Medley. A fine choice. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephen Steve!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babcock shoots in but no luck this time.
Steve feints a counter leg kick.
Steve throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steve misses with a kick to the body.
Steve throws a shot from downtown. Babcock moves away and avoids it.
Steve pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Babcock back to the cage. Steve follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Steve takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Babcock misses with a wild body shot.
Jim Babcock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steve misses with a body shot.
Steve ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Babcock moves away.
Babcock has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Steve finds it's way round the side to connect with Babcock's head.
Babcock throws a body punch but Steve moves out of range.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Babcock slips a nice elbow through Steve's hands, connecting with Steve's forehead.

Babcock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Babcock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Steve defends it well.

The crowd cheers as Steve lands an impressive looking overhand right. Babcock doesn't seem phased though.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Steve throws a front kick that sends Babcock stumbling back into the cage.

Babcock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Steve lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Babcock throws a solid leg kick but Steve takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Babcock.
Steve shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Babcock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Steve has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Babcock has managed to get both his arms back between Steve's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Babcock changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
