Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Duggan (ranked 1537 p4p, 1521 weight class) and ZaDarius Haden (ranked 217 p4p, 216 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Haden's choice of entrance music: Mot�rhead - Orgasmatron. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Duggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, ZaDarius Haden!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duggan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Haden.

Haden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Duggan is looking to regain half guard here but Haden keeps moving and retains side control.
Duggan is trying to control Haden's posture but Haden avoids it.

Haden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duggan keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duggan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

It looks like Haden might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haden throws a strike aimed at the side of Duggan's head but Duggan avoids it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Haden trying to control the position but Duggan is working away.
Haden moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Duggan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Duggan manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Haden is doing well to control the position and prevent Duggan from advancing to side control.
Duggan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Haden with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Duggan lands a nice short elbow.

Haden is controlling Duggan's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Duggan thows a huge punch but Haden dodges it nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duggan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Haden wants to hit a sweep here but Duggan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Haden there!
Haden regains half guard.
Duggan is keen to just control but Haden is a slippery customer.
Haden is trying to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Haden is positioning himself well to prevent Duggan advancing to mount.

A close round but ZaDarius Haden will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

No joy there for Duggan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Haden misses with a looping left.
Duggan takes a swing at Haden's ribcage but misses.
A slow jab from Duggan misses its intended target.
Haden feints the counter takedown.
Haden swats away the attempt to clinch by Duggan.
Duggan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Duggan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Haden.
Jim Duggan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Duggan throws a jab when Haden was well out of range.
Haden scores with a sloppy right hand. Duggan should have avoided that one.

and Haden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Haden shoots in for a double leg but Duggan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A counter left hand to the body from Duggan misses its target.
Haden avoids the body shot from Duggan.
Haden walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Duggan throws out a loose jab but Haden uses good head movement to avoid it.
Duggan wants to clinch up but Haden keeps it at a distance.
Duggan scores with a head kick. Haden tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Duggan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Duggan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Haden uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Duggan.
Duggan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Duggan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Haden is aware though and is defending well.

Duggan has his foot on Haden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Haden works his way back into a safe position though.

Duggan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Haden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Haden looking to sit in guard and control but Duggan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Duggan tries to free his leg and advance position but Haden is retaining full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Duggan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Haden moves away.
Haden slips a straight right by Duggan.
Haden lands a nice looking body shot.
Duggan misses with a left hand
and Haden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Haden is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Duggan throws a leg kick but Haden sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Duggan forces Haden back against the cage and clinches.

Haden gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Haden not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duggan is trying to keep Haden in close.
Duggan is really struggling to control Haden but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Haden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Haden is working Duggan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Haden got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duggan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Haden has managed to get both his arms back between Duggan's legs - danger averted.

Haden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Duggan is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Haden's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Haden appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Haden drives through with a takedown into Duggan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

ZaDarius Haden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Haden has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
