Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arthur King (ranked 1930 p4p, 1838 weight class) and Marcus Johnson (ranked 222 p4p, 212 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Arthur King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Johnson.
Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.
King throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
King looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Johnson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping King at a distance.
King fails with the takedown.
King throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
King throws the kick towards the body but Johnson avoids it.
Johnson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and King counters with a takedown into side control.
Johnson struggling a bit here.
Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite King's best efforts.
Johnson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of King's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take King's back!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Johnson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for King.

Johnson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control King haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
King wants to control his opponent's hands but Johnson gets his hands free.
King is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Johnson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Johnson doesn't have the hooks in and King manages to turn into his guard.

Johnson is looking to control King's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted?
King lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. King lands a nice short elbow.
King content to control rather than advance.

King avoids the attempt from Johnson to control.

Johnson is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

King breaks from Johnson's wrist control and lands an elbow.

King is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Johnson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Johnson shrugs it off.
Johnson is trying desperately to improve position.
King can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Johnson is surviving well by controlling King's body position as best he can.
Johnson is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Johnson wants to control but King is having none of it.
Johnson is trying to escape the mount.
King is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Johnson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

King lands a big elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King has hold of Johnson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johnson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

King controlling from mount.
Johnson is squirming around, avoiding King's attempts to control the action.

King has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Johnson can't escape the position.
King pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Arthur King dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Johnson checks a leg kick.
The fighters circling - King throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Johnson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
King throws a shot from downtown. Johnson moves away and avoids it.
King misses with a wild body shot.
Johnson avoids the body shot from King.
King throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
King uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.
King swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
King takes a shot to the body in his stride.
An inside leg kick lands from Johnson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. King should have avoided that one.
King missing with a left hand there. Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Johnson avoids the body shot from King.

Johnson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. King showed some decent athleticism there.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. King connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple.

King takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Johnson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but King manages to mount him!
King lands with some strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, King cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

King trying to control but he's not successful this time.
King controlling the pace for now.
King cracks Johnson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

King has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Johnson's face.

Johnson is rocked!
King looking to finish Johnson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Johnson!
Johnson is still in real trouble! Can King finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King lands a big elbow - Johnson is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Johnson is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Arthur King!
An out of breath Arthur King thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
