Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Dancer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Rios!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios ducks under a wild hook from Dancer.
Rios's coach down at Alpha Brasil was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rios's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Dancer throws a half hearted mid kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Dancer.
Dancer misses with a hook.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rios! But no joy.
Dancer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rios.
Dancer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Rios lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rios fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dancer on the side of the head.
Dancer misses with a kick to the body
and Rios counters with a nice uppercut.
Dancer throws a head kick that half lands.

It looks like Diego Rios has been cut.
Dancer misses with a low kick as Rios jumps back.
Rios takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dancer lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Rios misses with a double jab.
Dancer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rios misses with a few strikes there.
A jab from Rios finds it's way through Dancer's defenses.

Rios lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rios takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A solid leg kick lands there for Dancer.

and Dancer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dancer throws a poor cross that misses
and Rios counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dancer throws a sloppy head kick
and Dancer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rios displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dancer throws out the jab.
A jab from Rios finds it's way through Dancer's defenses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dancer misses with a body kick.
Rios is looking for the big counter here.
Rios is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Dancer had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Rios misses with a straight right.

and Dancer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rios connects with a right hand. Dancer shakes it off.

Dancer is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rios tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Rios bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dancer's head.
Oh Dancer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dancer plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A punch combination from Rios misses.
Dancer throws a sloppy head kick and Rios moves out of range easily.
Dancer seems to have got his legs back now.
Dancer misses with a body kick.
Dancer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rios sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Good shot there by Rios.
Rios cracks a nice hook into Dancer's ribs.
Dancer throws a head kick that misses.
Rios checks a leg kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rios checks a leg kick.
Dancer slips under a jab.
A combination from Rios does no damage.
Rios keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dancer throws a leg kick but Rios checks it.
Rios lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Dancer lands with an uppercut that bounces Rios off the cage and back into range.
Rios blocks the body kick.
Rios might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Rios lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Dancer can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Rios and Dancer drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Rios.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Rios!
Diego Rios bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
