Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hart (ranked 2482 p4p, 2267 weight class) and Emilio Morterero (ranked 334 p4p, 303 weight class). Morterero has chosen Tequila Sunrise (Spanish Version) as his entrance music. Bret Hart has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emilio Morterero!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart lands a nice shot that snaps Morterero's head back.
Morterero has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hart sizes up Morterero with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Morterero looks to land a left hand but Hart moved out of range nicely.
Hart throws the left hand but Morterero avoids the punch easily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Morterero.
Morterero throws a shot from downtown. Hart moves away and avoids it.
Morterero swats away the attempt to clinch by Hart.
Hart throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hart takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hart.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Morterero sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hart cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Morterero is squirming around, avoiding Hart's attempts to control the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Morterero swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Morterero pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hart is looking to counter the offense by Morterero and move into the clinch.

Hart closes the distance and pushes Morterero back into the cage.
Hart presses Morterero against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hart.
Hart keeps control of Morterero as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hart is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Morterero pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Morterero wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hart has Morterero pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Morterero manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hart seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Morterero would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Morterero tries to free his leg and advance position but Hart is retaining full guard.

Hart escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morterero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hart has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
