And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mebab has taken the fight to the clinch.
Avila throws an elbow but it misses.
Mebab drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Avila misses with a punch on the inside.
Mebab is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Avila pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Avila lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mebab backwards.

Avila breaks from the clinch.
Mebab fails in his attempt to clinch.
Avila ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Avila smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Mebab moves in looking to clinch but Avila pushes him off.
Avila avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mebab takes one to the chin there.
Mebab throws a lazy right hand but Avila sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The crowd cheers as Mebab lands an impressive looking overhand right. Avila doesn't seem phased though.
Avila lands a nice hook to Mebab's body. Mebab takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mebab takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mebab tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mebab takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Mebab wants to clinch.
Avila tries to counter with a takedown but Mebab is quick to defend against it.
Avila pounces like a tiger and cracks Mebab with a vicious hook! Mebab is down but not out! Avila follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
