WP 30 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 23 wins and 14 losses; Vasiliy Kulik! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 28 losses; Strega Notturna!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Kulik stuffs the takedown attempt from Notturna. Notturna gets slowly back to his feet.
Kulik half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Notturna shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kulik pinned against the ropes. Kulik gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kulik rushes Notturna and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Kulik really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Notturna had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kulik defends it easily.
We've been hearing good reports from Kulik's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

My spies in MMA Training and Sparring Buddies inform me that Notturna has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
