Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Braun Chase (ranked 3697 p4p, 4135 weight class) and Jeb Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeb Nelson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chase changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nelson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nelson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chase. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chase controls the position.
Nelson is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chase working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Chase sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nelson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Chase really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chase is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Nelson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Chase in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Chase passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Nelson!

Nelson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nelson wants to control but Chase is having none of it.
Chase controlling the pace for now.
Chase has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chase can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nelson is looking to escape.

Chase is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Chase extends the arm and Nelson is forced to tap!
