And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergej Kusnemirpow!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovacs tries to close the distance and clinch but Kusnemirpow swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kovacs clinches with his opponent.
Kovacs misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kusnemirpow is working for takedown but Kovacs is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kovacs throws a punch but it's blocked by Kusnemirpow.
Kusnemirpow wants to take the fight to the mat but Kovacs manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Kovacs will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kusnemirpow up against the cage.
Kovacs misses with a hook from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kovacs presses Kusnemirpow against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Kovacs tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kusnemirpow's elbow.

Kovacs manages to break the clinch.
Kusnemirpow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kovacs as he avoids it easily.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kovacs darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Kovacs rushes Kusnemirpow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kovacs misses with the head strike.

Kovacs scores with a shot to the side of Kusnemirpow's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kovacs lands a hook to the side of the head.

Kusnemirpow has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kovacs clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kusnemirpow looking for the choke but no joy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kusnemirpow is persistently looking for the submission but Kovacs is defending it well.

Kusnemirpow has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Kovacs is in real trouble here. Kusnemirpow gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Kovacs is tapping out! Kusnemirpow wins by rear naked choke!
