The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OShea swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Mendy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Mendy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

OShea is rocked!
OShea has hold of Mendy's hands but Mendy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
OShea is still in real trouble! Can Mendy finish him?
OShea felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Mendy scores with a big shot! OShea's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save OShea! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
