PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Red Greene (ranked 284 p4p, 777 weight class) and Robbie Hall (ranked 11 p4p, 34 weight class). Hall is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Andy Shauf: The Magician. Red Greene has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Robbie Hall!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hall has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Greene misses with an uppercut

and Hall moves into the clinch.

Hall on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Hall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Greene just stands there and leans against the cage.
Red Greene has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robbie Hall.

Hall prevents Greene from improving his position.
Greene has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hall is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Greene has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hall has managed to get both his arms back between Greene's legs - danger averted.

Hall might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Greene haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Hall is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Greene has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hall drops back, looking for a kneebar! Greene looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Greene looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Greene!

Greene has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hall defend it? Greene steps over the head and cranks it - Hall is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Greene!
