Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Kopstoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Smyth!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Kopstoot catches Smyth right on the button with a cross.
Kopstoot throws a series of punches but Smyth avoids them all with ease.
Nice takedown defense from Kopstoot. No joy for Smyth on that attempt.
No luck for Smyth with that takedown attempt.
Kopstoot connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smyth. Smyth circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Smyth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kopstoot pinned against the cage. Kopstoot gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dave Kopstoot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Smyth.
Smyth dives in and grabs Kopstoot's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kopstoot pushes down on Smyth's head and hops out.
Kopstoot moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Smyth goes down! Can Kopstoot finish him!?

Kopstoot wanted to stand there but Smyth had control of the position.

Smyth has his foot on Kopstoot's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kopstoot works his way back into a safe position though.

Kopstoot gets to his feet. Smyth looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kopstoot lands a really nice looking cross but Smyth seems unphased.

Kopstoot closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kopstoot stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Kopstoot throws a lazy right hand but Smyth sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Smyth is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kopstoot is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Smyth.

Kopstoot throws a leg kick but Smyth sees it coming and moves out of range.
Smyth ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kopstoot uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kopstoot displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Kopstoot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smyth manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smyth has a closed guard, preventing Kopstoot from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smyth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kopstoot is one step ahead there.

Kopstoot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smyth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kopstoot has managed to get both his arms back between Smyth's legs - danger averted.

Smyth had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kopstoot is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smyth Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kopstoot's back instead.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Smyth is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Kopstoot has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Kopstoot throws an overhand right that lands on Smyth's shoulder, as Smyth tries to avoid the shot.

enabling Kopstoot to counter with a crisp jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smyth is desperately trying to improve his position but Kopstoot has a good base and remains in mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kopstoot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smyth can do to turn this around?

Smyth drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kopstoot manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smyth has Kopstoot in his guard.

Smyth throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kopstoot uses it to pass to side control.

Smyth is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kopstoot is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
