Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ruud Altena (ranked 1766 p4p, 977 weight class) and Sambo Sam (ranked 230 p4p, 131 weight class). Altena comes to the cage accompanied by Grontapu by Double Rock. On his way into the cage it seems that Ruud Altena has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ruud Altena seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altena is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Altena slips a jab from Sam.
Sam fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Altena manages to avoid it.
Sam fails with the takedown.
Sam dodges the punch combination from Altena.
Sam appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Sam tries to move into range but Altena moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ruud Altena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sam closes the distance and pushes Altena back into the cage.
Sam can't break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Altena tries to land a knee to the head but Sam blocks with his arms.

Altena on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Altena tries to get out of the position.
Altena looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sam is trying to control. Altena wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sam slips a nice elbow through Altena's hands, connecting with Altena's forehead.
Altena is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Devil’s Playground that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sam blocks a head kick by Altena.

Altena doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Altena connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sam's hands.

Sam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Altena looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sam goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Altena rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sam's guard! Nice work there by Altena!

Altena is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sam has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Altena is looking to defend but Sam has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Altena! Sam pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Altena taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sambo Sam!
Sambo Sam decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
