Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Vij!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vij has taken the fight to the clinch.
Vij swings wildly with an uppercut but Congo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vij misses with the head strike.
Congo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Vij lands with a light punch inside.
Vij stalling in the clinch but Congo improves position.
Congo with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Congo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Vijs head.
Vij is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Congo wants to get back to striking at distance but Vij won't allow it.

Roberto Congo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vij connects with a body shot that sends Congo's belly button to the back.

Congo throws a hook to the side of Vij's head but Vij sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Congo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Vij counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The fighters circling - Congo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vij has Congo up against the ropes in a clinch.
Vij lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Congo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Congo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Congo has been working on his boxing with his coaches at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies in the buildup to the fight.
Vij looks to land a body kick but Congo moved away.
A low kick from Vij misses
and Congo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vij jabs at Congo's body.
Congo drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Vij onto his butt! Vij pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vij throws a body punch but Congo moves out of range.
Vij misses with a looping left.
Vij walks forward, straight into a front kick from Congo.
Congo cracks Vij with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Vij is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Vij is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Vij could not beat the count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Roberto Congo!
After the fight, Roberto Congo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
