Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane White (ranked 4584 p4p, 4693 weight class) and Jin Kimura (ranked 505 p4p, 514 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimura shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. White is trying to defend but Kimura finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
White keeping control of the position.
Kimura not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kimura trying to mount his opponent but White defends it.

Kimura seems to be working for a kimura but White defends the submission attempt.
White knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kimura on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kimura is working away from the top position though.
White desperately trying to maintain half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
White controlling the position.
White keeping moving, preventing Kimura from controlling successfully.
White pulls Kimura in close to his closed guard and prevents Kimura from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kimura has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of White is proving hard to escape from.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as White holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

White drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

White avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kimura is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
White is in close to Kimura's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Kimura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. White doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. White manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
White wants to control from the top but Kimura keeps moving.

White stands up over Kimura, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kimura has momentary wrist control but White slips an elbow through the middle.
White advances to half guard.
White tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kimura knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
White lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jin Kimura will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

White lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
White is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Our spies down at at Ocean Ripples inform us that Kimura has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
White lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
White makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Shane White overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kimura throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
White postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Kimura can't keep his opponent in guard - White advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. White connects with a nice short shot to Kimura's temple.

Kimura is rocked!

White is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
White looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kimura is still in real trouble! Can White finish him?
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
White passes to full mount!
Kimura seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kimura gets back to half guard.
White is looking to take a break and control but Kimura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kimura is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of White's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take White's back!
You can see the frustration on White's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Kimura is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. White knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften White for a finish.
Kimura is breathing heavily.

White is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kimura is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

White is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Kimura working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Kimura throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
White needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation.
Kimura trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Kimura has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jin Kimura will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Kimura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

White kicks off Kimura and gets to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kimura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
White distracts Kimura with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
White cracks Kimura with a solid left hand.
White not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

White is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

White lands a couple of digs.
White with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Kimura had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. White defends it easily.
White postures up and lands a big shot to Kimura's brow.
White makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

White drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and White jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

White stands up over Kimura, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
White wants to control from the top but Kimura keeps moving.

White content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kimura has locked up a guillotine! Kimura's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? White is holding on here and Kimura must be using up a lot of energy. White has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kimura gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jin Kimura!
