Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Han Gan (ranked 4062 p4p, 4022 weight class) and Aled Bowen (ranked 477 p4p, 176 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Han Gan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aled Bowen!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowen misses with a takedown attempt
and Gan counters with a left and a right that stings Bowen.
Gan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gan tries to bum rush Bowen with a series of wild strikes but Bowen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Gan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gan prevents Bowen from improving his position.
Gan is looking to advance position but Bowen won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gan passes into side control, despite Bowen's attempt to control the position.

Bowen is not content to let Gan control the position.
Bowen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gan's best efforts.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bowen pulls Gan in close to prevent any damage.

Gan wanted to stand there but Bowen had control of the position.
Gan throws a strike but Bowen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bowen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bowen has Gan in his guard.

Bowen controls Gan momentarily but Gan frees himself.

Gan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bowen.
Bowen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Han Gan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aled Bowen.

and Gan counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Gan thuds his right hand into Bowen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Bowen shoots for a takedown but Gan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bowen was covering up waiting for the punch and Gan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bowen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bowen is looking for a triangle but Gan pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bowen.
Bowen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gan leaves Bowen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bowen tries to keep at a distance but Gan has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bowen can do to turn this around?

Gan has hold of one of Bowen's legs. Bowen is fighting the takedown attempt but Gan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Gan stands and steps away. Bowen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bowen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gan tries to avoid it but Bowen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gan to the ground. Gan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gan stuffs the takedown attempt from Bowen. Bowen gets slowly back to his feet.
Gan lands a two punch combo.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bowen is looking to reverse the position.
Bowen is trying to control Gan's posture but Gan avoids it.
Bowen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Bowen manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Bowen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gan's guard.


Bowen drops back looking for a leg! Gan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gan manages to kick Bowen off! Bowen jumps back into Gan's guard.

Bowen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bowen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gan's guard.

Bowen is trying to work for a kimura but Gan is defending well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bowen wants to work for an arm triangle but Gan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Bowen takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Bowen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gan sprawls well. Gan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bowen gets slowly back to his feet.

Gan tries to sprawl but Bowen drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Gan pushes Bowen off and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bowen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gan.

Bowen is working to tighten his grip on Gan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bowen is really squeezing tight and eventually Gan passes out! Bowen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Aled Bowen!
