Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Menezes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gustavo Menezes!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menezes misses with a body kick.
Menezes shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice defenses there by Menezes.
Menezes looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Menezes has a takedown stuffed.
Menezes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Victor Marques has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Menezes.
Menezes fails with an attempt to clinch.

Marques closes the distance and clinches.
Menezes wants a takedown.

Menezes pulls Marques into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marques stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Menezes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Marques shoots in but no luck this time.
Menezes misses with a takedown attempt

and Marques counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Menezes looks gassed!

Menezes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marques controls the pace.
Menezes is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Menezes takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Marques stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Menezes is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Menezes fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Marques drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Marques has Menezes pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Marques looking to control.

Menezes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Marques utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Menezes trying to control the position from guard on top but Marques is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Marques feints and as Menezes raises his hands in defense, Marques changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Menezes wants to stand up but Marques is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marques gets to his feet. Menezes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Menezes tries to clinch but Marques moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Menezes. No joy for Marques on that attempt.
Marques misses with a takedown attempt - Menezes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Marques scores with a one two! Menezes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Menezes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marques shoots in looking for a takedown. Menezes tries to sprawl out of it but Marques keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Menezes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Victor Marques. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Menezes moves into range and clinches up with Marques.

Menezes gets control of Marques's arms and successfully pulls guard. Menezes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Menezes wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Marques.
Menezes tries to reverse the position but Marques maintains control.
Menezes tries to lock up and control but Marques gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Marques landing strikes from the mount and Menezes is in trouble!
Marques lands a heavy elbow.
Menezes is wriggling around trying to escape.

Marques is standing up, even though he is in mount.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Menezes has eaten all the pies!

Marques has a takedown stuffed.
Marques misses with a takedown attempt - Menezes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Menezes looks for a takedown but Marques sprawls well.
Menezes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Marques feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Menezes kicks Marques off and gets to his feet.
Marques tries for a takedown but Menezes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Marques works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Menezes can't keep his opponent in guard - Marques advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Marques passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Menezes!

Marques cracks Menezes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Menezes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Marques punishing his opponent with strikes.
Marques landing strikes from the mount and Menezes is in trouble!
Menezes can't escape the position.
Marques controlling from the full mount.

Marques wants to control the pace but Menezes is squirming around nicely.
Menezes can't escape the position.
Marques avoids the attempt from Menezes to control.

Marques working for a guillotine from mount but Menezes is in no mood to give up.
Menezes tries to hold on but Marques pushes him away.

Marques takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well Marques has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
