PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donny Baxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Jansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baxton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Tech N9ne-Red Nose. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jansen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jansen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Baxton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Baxton manages to get back to half guard.
Jansen is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Jansen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Baxton is adopting a defensive guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jansen is fighting to break Baxton's control of his arms but Baxton is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jansen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jansen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Baxton jabs Jansen right on the nose. Jansen blinks but takes it well.
Jansen shoots for a double leg takedown but Baxton sprawls well. He's pushed Jansen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Baxton moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Baxton throws out a loose jab but Jansen uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jansen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Baxton's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jansen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jansen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Baxton, up you get!
Baxton tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jansen closes the distance and clinches up with Baxton, looking for a takedown. Jansen pushes Baxton against the cage but Baxton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Baxton cracks Jansen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Baxton throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jansen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Donny Baxton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jansen ducks under a wild hook from Baxton.

A close round but Chad Jansen will probably get the nod.
That's time! Baxton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jansen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Baxton is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Baxton throws a right and a left that Jansen avoids nicely.

Jansen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Baxton looks calm but he's in trouble here. Jansen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Baxton is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Jansen lets go of the hold and Baxton can pop his arm back in it's socket.
