Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Abdi Hassan (ranked 479 p4p, 2023 weight class) and Arturo Hernandez (ranked 31 p4p, 141 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdi Hassan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arturo Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Abdi Hassan has been cut.
Hassan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hassan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hassan takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hernandez lands a nice looking body shot.
Hernandez connects with a jab.
Hernandez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hernandez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hassan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Hassan connects with a nice looking jab.
Hernandez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A little feinted left hand from Hassan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hernandez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

A left lands for Hassan.

Hassan feinted with a counter takedown.
Hassan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hernandez.

Arturo Hernandez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hassan swings for the body but Hernandez moves out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Hassan lands a jab to the nose.
Hassan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hernandez finds it's way round the side to connect with Hassan's head.

Hernandez loads up on a big right hand but Hassan slips the punch.
Hassan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hernandez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hernandez looks to land a left hand but Hassan moved out of range nicely.
Hassan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hernandez's head.

Hernandez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hassan.

Abdi Hassan's cut is getting worse.

A looping hook to the body misses from Hassan. Hernandez does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hassan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hassan lands in his opponent's guard.

Hernandez wants to stand up but Hassan is controlling him.
Hernandez can't keep his opponent in guard - Hassan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hernandez is looking to escape.
Hernandez tries to roll over but Hassan keeps him under control.
Hernandez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hernandez won't allow Hassan to pass to mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arturo Hernandez will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hassan stops Hernandez from standing up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hassan passes Hernandez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hernandez looks like he's trying to stand up.

Hassan seems to be working for a kimura but Hernandez defends the submission attempt.

Hassan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hernandez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hassan.

Hassan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hernandez has his hands clasped together around Hassan's back. He's all about the action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hassan stops Hernandez from getting back to his feet.

Hassan is working for a submission of some sort.
Hernandez is pressing down on Hassan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hernandez wants to sweep but no luck.

Hernandez wants to stand up but Hassan is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hassan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hassan dives in for a single leg takedown but Hernandez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
Hernandez looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Hernandez lands a body shot.
Hassan tries to pull guard but Hernandez won't allow it.
Hassan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hernandez walks away with a smile on his face. Hassan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdi Hassan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hernandez scores with a sloppy right hand. Hassan should have avoided that one.
Hernandez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Hernandez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hassan misses with an uppercut
and Hernandez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hernandez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hassan sprawling to the canvas! Hassan rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hernandez finish him?!

Hassan is rocked!

Abdi Hassan's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hassan gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Hernandez points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Hassan wakes up just in time to hear Hernandez thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

After winning the bout, Arturo Hernandez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
