Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marco Peccati (ranked 2511 p4p, 24584 weight class) and John Vermicelli (ranked 330 p4p, 578 weight class). Vermicelli has chosen Gonna Fly Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peccati shoots in for a takedown but Vermicelli shows good takedown defense.
Marco Peccati seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vermicelli scores with a hook to the body. Peccati takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Peccati wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vermicelli , who protects the arm well.

Peccati has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Vermicelli stops Peccati from passing to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peccati advances nicely into full mount.
Vermicelli tries to hold on but Peccati pushes him away.
Peccati looking to control and managing it successfully.
Peccati has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Peccati's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Peccati is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Vermicelli is surviving well by controlling Peccati's body position as best he can.

Peccati is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Peccati!
