Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Butler Hickok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jarrod Beard!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hickok misses with a double jab
and Beard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hickok gets a clinch.
Hickok stalls.
Beard has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hickok avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hickok fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Beard drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hickok pulls his leg out and moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hickok. Beard does a little dance to reset his feet.
Beard drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hickok defends it well.
Hickok scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Beard listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
It looks like James Butler Hickok has been cut.
Hickok looks for the body kick but Beard saw that one coming.
Beard doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hickok wants to clinch up but Beard keeps it at a distance.
Beard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hickok moves away.
Beard throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hickok misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Beard counters with a stiff right hand.
Hickok misses with a left hand
and Beard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hickok's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Beard passes Hickok's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Beard has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Beard cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Beard thowing shots but they're missing.
Hickok trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hickok has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Beard lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hickok is bucking up trying to escape but Beard cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Beard postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hickok looks a forlorn figure.
Poor strikes thrown by Beard there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beard misses with a head shot.
BOOM! Beard connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Beard punching from mount but Hickok doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Beard postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Hickok is out cold - huge knockout for Beard!
