PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jisoo Oh (ranked 3153 p4p, 22878 weight class) and Wade Wilson (ranked 390 p4p, 593 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jisoo Oh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wade Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oh stuffs the takedown.
Wilson loads up on a big right hand but Oh slips the punch.
It looked like Oh wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Oh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wilson throws out the jab.
Oh lands a jab to the nose.
Oh scores with a jab.
Oh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown but Oh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wilson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Oh gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wilson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Wilson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oh works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Wilson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Oh circles away quickly and effectively.

Wilson tries to clinch up but Oh circles away and keeps his distance.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oh comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Wilson gets caught napping as Oh dives in and scores a takedown. Wilson manages to retain guard.
Wilson controls Oh momentarily but Oh frees himself.
Oh is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wilson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Oh manages to get himself to full guard.

Oh pulls Wilson in close to prevent any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Oh is on top in guard.

Oh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Oh controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Oh distracts Wilson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Oh drops back looking for a leg! Wilson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wilson manages to kick Oh off! Oh jumps back into Wilson's guard.
Oh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wilson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Oh slips a nice elbow through Wilson's hands, connecting with Wilson's forehead.

Oh is landing with some decent strikes but Wilson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wilson has left one of his arms exposed and Oh doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Wilson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
