Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Merchant (ranked 2666 p4p, 24257 weight class) and Gregor CleaPain (ranked 319 p4p, 544 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Merchant might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to HonestKey- Pass. Gregor CleaPain told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
CleaPain tries to clinch but Merchant moves away

and Merchant counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for CleaPain!
We've been hearing that Merchant has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
CleaPain sneaks back into half guard.
Merchant is thwarting CleaPain's attempts to control the position.
Merchant is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Merchant tries to pass the half guard into mount. CleaPain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Merchant stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Merchant slips a nice elbow through CleaPain's hands, connecting with CleaPain's forehead.
CleaPain is looking to improve his position.
CleaPain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Merchant works his foot free and advances to mount.
CleaPain regains half guard.
Merchant wants to pass to mount but CleaPain is defending the position.
Merchant lands with a punch from half guard.
Merchant working CleaPain over with strikes.
Merchant tries to pass to full mount but CleaPain defends it.
Merchant is looking to take a break and control but CleaPain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
CleaPain is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Merchant scores with a couple of nice shots.

Merchant lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt CleaPain quite badly. CleaPain pulls Merchant in close trying to recover. Merchant postures up and lands two really hard shots that put CleaPain on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but CleaPain doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
