Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Samson Komua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suzaku Kururugi!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kururugi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kururugi wants to land a leg kick but Komua is out of range.
Komua swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Komua scores with a jab. Kururugi acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A telegraphed right hand from Kururugi misses the target.

Komua throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kururugi moves out of range as Komua strikes.
Komua ducks under a wild hook from Kururugi.
Komua swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Komua fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kururugi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Komua throws a leg kick but Kururugi sees it coming and moves out of range.

Komua manages to break the clinch.
Komua cracks Kururugi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Kururugi counters with an inside leg kick.
Komua lunges at Kururugi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kururugi's hand.
Kururugi glances at the clock... BAM! Komua nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Kururugi crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Kururugi is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Samson Komua!
