The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinsey looks for the body kick but Acosta saw that one coming.
Acosta dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kinsey. That did some damage!
Kinsey closes this distance looking for a takedown but Acosta circles away.
Acosta looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Acosta counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Acosta.
Kinsey wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Acosta manages to pass to side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acosta is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Acosta seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Acosta has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
