Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Sparr (ranked 488 p4p, 866 weight class) and Theros Ironfeld (ranked 65 p4p, 100 weight class). Sparr comes to the cage accompanied by OH NO!. Theros Ironfeld has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Sparr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Theros Ironfeld!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ironfeld throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sparr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ironfeld is in Sparr's guard.

Ironfeld wants to control from the top but Sparr keeps moving.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ironfeld accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ironfeld has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sparr finds it's way round the side to connect with Ironfeld's head.

Sparr tries to move into range but Ironfeld moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Theros Ironfeld seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sparr uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ironfeld has time to react.
Sparr definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ironfeld throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sparr sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sparr drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ironfeld sprawls and moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ironfeld has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sparr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Sparr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ironfeld with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sparr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ironfeld keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ironfeld is pulling down on Sparr's head. It's preventing any offense from Sparr, at least for the moment.
Sparr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ironfeld can do to turn this around?

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Sparr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Sparr has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Theros Ironfeld spoke after the fight, saying 'Came in here thinking I could get a chance at that belt, but when the pieces don't fit, the Blacksmith goes back to the forge. I'll be back.'.
