The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Bennett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rolla tries to avoid it but Bennett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rolla to the ground. Rolla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bennett misses with a takedown attempt - Rolla sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rolla fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bennett sprawls well initially but Rolla persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Rolla (2) vs (0) Bennett
Rolla wants to pass to mount but Bennett is defending the position.
Rolla will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bennett is trying to get back to full guard.
Rolla has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Bennett has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rolla is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Bennett can't escape the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rolla is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Bennett has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Rolla has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Bennett taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Rolla doesn't care though - he's delighted!
