Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Obasi (ranked 4055 p4p, 4740 weight class) and Bernard Krakowski (ranked 478 p4p, 538 weight class). Krakowski is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Netherfell - Mokosz. Bernard Krakowski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bernard Krakowski!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obasi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Obasi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Krakowski manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Obasi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Obasi is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Krakowski controls Obasi momentarily but Obasi frees himself.
Krakowski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Obasi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Krakowski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Obasi keeps working.

It looks like Bernard Krakowski has been cut.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Obasi.
Krakowski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Obasi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Obasi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Krakowski pinned against the cage. Krakowski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Krakowski throws out a counter right but Obasi avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Krakowski looks to score with a jab to the body but Obasi is just out of range.

Krakowski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Obasi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Krakowski sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Obasi throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Obasi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Krakowski lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Krakowski.

It looks like Solomon Obasi has been cut.
Obasi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Krakowski swivels and escapes.
Obasi misses with a wild combination.
Obasi keeps Krakowski at a distance using the push kick.
Obasi on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Krakowski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Krakowski enables Obasi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Krakowski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Obasi looks to land a combination but Krakowski avoids it well.
Krakowski let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Obasi lands a nice shot to the body.
Obasi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Krakowski.
Obasi shoots in looking for a takedown but Krakowski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Obasi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Solomon Obasi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A relieved looking Bernard Krakowski thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
