Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teofilo Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ren Yamato!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamato lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Stevenson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Stevenson throws a head kick but Yamato moves out of range.
Stevenson cracks Yamato with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Yamato avoids the head kick by Stevenson.
Yamato wants to counter with a clinch but Stevenson pushes him away.
Stevenson lands with a nice body punch.
Yamato darts in looking for a takedown but Stevenson gets double underhooks and turns Yamato into the cage.
Stevenson misses the shot to the body.
Stevenson tries a head kick but it misses.

Stevenson gets caught flat footed, as Yamato shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Yamato is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yamato pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stevenson is keeping the position for now.
Yamato stops Stevenson from standing up.
Yamato is stalling in the full guard.
Stevenson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Yamato drops back looking for a leg! Stevenson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevenson manages to kick Yamato off! Yamato jumps back into Stevenson's guard.

Yamato stands up and waves to Stevenson to follow him.
Stevenson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Stevenson scores with a head kick.
Stevenson throws a hook but Yamato avoids it easily.
Stevenson throws a head kick that Yamato semi-blocks.
Teofilo Stevenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamato tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stevenson swivels and escapes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yamato takes one on the button.
Stevenson throws a hook but Yamato avoids it easily.
Yamato tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stevenson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yamato somewhat.
Teofilo Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ren Yamato.
Yamato fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yamato throws a lazy head kick
and Stevenson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Yamato looks winded!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A nice leg kick lands there from Stevenson.

Yamato walks into a jab.

Stevenson lands a big head kick that sends Yamato tumbling to the mat! Stevenson takes a step backwards and waves Yamato back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Yamato is rocked!

Stevenson sends Yamato crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Stevenson is motioning to the referee to let Yamato up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Yamato is still on wobbly legs! Can Stevenson finish him?
Stevenson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Stevenson looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Stevenson backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Yamato's temple! It sends Yamato violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Stevenson celebrates and the doctors try to help Yamato!
