The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares throws a lazy right hand but Fenfang sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fenfang will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fenfang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Palhares was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Palhares looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Palhares lands a jab to Fenfang's midsection.
Fenfang on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Palhares feints and then cracks Fenfang's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fenfang down.
Fenfang shoots in but Palhares avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Palhares appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuanwei Fenfang. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Palhares enables Fenfang to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Palhares manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Palhares has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fenfang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
