Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hoyce Gracias (ranked 4303 p4p, 2634 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Redman's choice of entrance music: Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stu Redman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Hoyce Gracias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gracias is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Redman off and has taken his back!
Gracias controls the position.
Gracias continues to stall.
Redman tries to break free.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Gracias controlling the positon.
Redman just trying to survive but Gracias is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracias is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Gracias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gracias shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Redman eats them both and turns towards Gracias to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Gracias is looking for a triangle but Redman pushes his legs off easily.
Gracias can't keep his opponent in guard - Redman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Redman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracias. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Redman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracias with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Redman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracias does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Redman connects with a nice short shot to Gracias's temple.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hoyce Gracias will probably get the nod.
