PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryk Anders (ranked 24316 p4p, 4666 weight class) and Fergal Mulroney (ranked 544 p4p, 460 weight class). Anders comes into the arena with Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fergal Mulroney!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mulroney misses with a left hand

and Anders counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Anders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mulroney works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Mulroney connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Anders throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mulroney connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Anders gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Anders fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mulroney checks it well.
Anders connects with a crisp jab.
Mulroney fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Anders on the side of the head.
Mulroney takes a swing at Anders's ribcage but misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anders lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mulroney's sensitive parts.
Anders throws a hook but Mulroney avoids it easily.
Anders takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mulroney, as that shot connected.
Mulroney has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Anders throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Anders takes one to the chin there.
Anders's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mulroney connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Anders scrambles back to his feet.
Anders misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anders throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mulroney scores with a jab to the body.
Anders takes one to the chin there.
Mulroney sizes up Anders with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Anders looks for the body kick but Mulroney saw that one coming.
Anders throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mulroney sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mulroney fails to land with a series of punches.
Anders throws a predictable looking body shot
and Mulroney cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anders walks into a stiff left hand from Mulroney.
Anders waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mulroney.
Mulroney throws a jab when Anders was well out of range.
Anders on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The crowd cheers as Mulroney lands an impressive looking overhand right. Anders doesn't seem phased though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anders ducks into an uppercut from Mulroney and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

During a confident post fight interview, Fergal Mulroney thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Ryk Anders was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm a competitor, and I know a lot of people say that, but I'm not going to give in or be intimidated by anybody!'.
