Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Howard Clay (ranked 2204 p4p, 3973 weight class) and Mitchell Lamb (ranked 256 p4p, 434 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clay takes the fight into the clinch.

Clay postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lamb is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Clay, into his guard.

Lamb really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round but I would say that Howard Clay will probably get the nod.

Clay drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lamb manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clay has Lamb in his guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Clay connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lamb. Lamb circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Lamb throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Clay tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lamb is in Clay's guard.
Clay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Clay tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lamb manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Clay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lamb keeps working.

Clay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lamb is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Clay frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lamb has given up his back.
Clay tries to keep control of the position but Lamb is staying busy.

Lamb is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Clay gets his way!
