Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobojo Makoba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ripley West!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Makoba.
West misses with a looping left.
West tries a head kick but it misses.
West closes the distance and pushes Makoba back into the cage.
Makoba's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
West misses with a wild body shot.
West misses with a straight left.
Makoba ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Makoba is looking to counter punch.
West misses the shot to the body.
A shot to the liver by Makoba. Beautiful body shot.
West jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Makoba lands a big right hand that sends West crashing to the mat! Makoba stays standing though and waves West back to his feet!
It looks like Ripley West has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Makoba moves out of range as West strikes.
West takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
West doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
West looks winded!
West throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Makoba batters West with a massive right followed by a huge left! West is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Makoba lands a final crushing right hand to drop West to the mat with a gruesome thud! Makoba is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bobojo Makoba!
An out of breath Bobojo Makoba thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
