Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaxson Munro (ranked 2804 p4p, 2532 weight class) and Grant Daws (ranked 354 p4p, 325 weight class). Jaxson Munro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxson Munro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Grant Daws !
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munro takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Munro feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Daws s jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Daws works Munro's body with a nice hook.
Munro lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Munro pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've been hearing reports that Munro has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Munro misses with a wild body shot.
It seemed like Daws was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Daws takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jab, jab by Daws - just one landing.
Daws slips under a jab.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Daws fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Munro manages to avoid it.

Daws presses Munro against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Munro wants to get back to striking at distance but Daws won't allow it.

Daws let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Daws wants to clinch up but Munro keeps it at a distance.
Munro pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Daws back to the cage. Munro follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Munro throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Daws on the side of the head.

enabling Daws to counter with a crisp jab.

Jaxson Munro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Munro misses with a few strikes there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Munro fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Daws changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Munro has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Daws finds it's way round the side to connect with Munro's head.
Munro is breathing heavily.
Daws takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Munro throws a looping overhand right but Daws ducks down to avoid it.
Daws scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Munro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Daws stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Munro tries to land knees in the clinch but Daws avoids the damage to the body.
Munro letting Daws take a breather here.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Daws lands a nice uppercut.
Daws has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Munro seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Daws can turn it around.

Munro has clasped his hands together around Daws 's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
You can see the frustration on Daws 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Jaxson Munro will probably get the nod.

Munro is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Munro is trying to drag Daws to the mat but Daws just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daws can't find room to land a body shot as Munro controls the action.
Daws 's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Munro is trying to maintain a safe position but Daws gets an underhook and turns Munro into the cage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Munro goes for a takedown attempt but Daws pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Daws cracks a nice hook into Munro's ribs.
Munro walks into a stiff left hand from Daws .

Daws moves into the clinch successfully.
Come on Daws - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Munro blocks a body shot from Daws .
Daws doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Daws stalling.
Daws leaning his opponent against the cage.
Munro takes a shot to the head.
Daws is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaxson Munro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Munro goes for a takedown attempt but Daws pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Daws doesn't manage to clinch there - Munro circles away.
Daws smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and Daws counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Daws keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Munro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Munro is thwarting Daws 's attempts to control the position.

Grant Daws showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Daws is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Daws is staying active underneath Munro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Daws is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Munro's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Munro's back!

Grant Daws comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Daws has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
