The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Carter fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Thompson on the side of the head.
Jordan Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Thompson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Carter scores with a hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thompson dives in and grabs Carter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carter pushes down on Thompson's head and hops out.
Carter cracks Thompson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Thompson shoots in for a double leg but Carter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Carl Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Thompson.
Thompson looks gassed!
Thompson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Carter fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Carter drops Thompson with a straight right hand, right on the button! Carter follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
