The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vice loads up on a big right hand but Ape slips the punch.
Vice fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vice throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Grey Ape has been cut.
Vice tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ape paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Vice counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Vice cracks Ape with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Ape counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Miami Vice has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vice throws a sloppy head kick and Ape moves out of range easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Ape misses the target.
Vice throws out a loose jab but Ape uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ape cracks Vice with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Vice throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ape is looking to counter punch.

Vice swings for the body but Ape moves out of range.
Vice connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Vice lands a slapping body shot.
Vice smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Vice misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ape.
Ape is looking to counter punch.
Vice feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Apes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Ape counters with a good low kick that Vice was not able to check.
Vice throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Vice connects with the punch.

and Ape counters with a straight right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ape pushes Vice up against the cage in a clinch.

Vice swings wildly with an uppercut but Ape uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vice lands with a short shot to the head.
Vice doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A short uppercut from Vice.
Vice misses with the head strike.
Vice trying to stall but Ape improves his position.
Vice looking to slow down the pace here.
Still in the clinch, Ape scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ape tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Our sources have told us that Ape has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Ape misses with a body punch.
Vice managing to block the knees to the body from Ape.
Vice tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A head punch on the inside from Ape fails to land.
Vice throws a head punch that misses.

Vice escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vice fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Ape moves into range and connects with a jab.
A head kick by Vice misses
and Ape counters with a nice uppercut.

That has opened up Miami Vice's cut even more.
Vice throws a series of strikes that have Ape backpedaling.
Vice swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vice paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A telegraphed right hand from Ape misses the target.
Vice takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Vice throws a sloppy head kick and Ape moves out of range easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Ape misses the target.

Ape lands a big right hand that sends Vice crashing to the mat! Ape stays standing though and waves Vice back to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ape looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Ape uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vice.
Vice lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ape at a distance.

Ape feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Vice sprawling to the canvas! Vice rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ape finish him?!

Vice is rocked!

The cut above Miami Vice's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ape avoids the head kick by Vice.

and Ape counters with a big right hand! Oh Vice is in trouble here! Ape follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
