Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Israel Carlson (ranked 2342 p4p, 19282 weight class) and Ian Laperierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlson's entrance music is Bonecracker/ Shocore. A fine choice. Laperierre comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tha Shiznit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ian Laperierre is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Israel Carlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ian Laperierre!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laperierre fails to land the takedown.
Carlson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Laperierre checks a leg kick nicely.
Carlson connects with a body shot.
Carlson missing with a left hand there. Laperierre was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Carlson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Carlson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Laperierre looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Laperierre has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Carlson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Laperierre has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Laperierre tries to clinch there but Carlson circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Laperierre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carlson keeps working.

That was a close round but I would say that Israel Carlson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Laperierre seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carlson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Laperierre misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Laperierre closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carlson to the mat! Carlson manages to get full guard.
Laperierre wants to stand but Carlson is controlling his posture from full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Israel Carlson showed his dominance in that final round.
