PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jun Fan Lee (ranked 2548 p4p, 4484 weight class) and Andrei Baltaretu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes into the arena with Bruce Lee Soundtrack blaring out of the sound system. Baltaretu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Roy Jones Jr - Can't be touched.. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baltaretu closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard.
Baltaretu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Baltaretu misses with a head shot. Lee uses the momentum to regain guard.
Baltaretu won't allow Lee to get back to his feet.
Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lee wants to stand but Baltaretu is controlling the position.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jun Fan Lee.
Lee darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Baltaretu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lee tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Baltaretu manages to circle out of the way.
Baltaretu avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Baltaretu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Baltaretu looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lee gets to his feet. Baltaretu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee thuds his right hand into Baltaretu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Lee tries to bum rush Baltaretu with a series of wild strikes but Baltaretu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've been informed that Baltaretu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Baltaretu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lee tries to avoid it but Baltaretu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lee to the ground. Lee escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It looked like Lee was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut above Andrei Baltaretu's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Baltaretu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baltaretu gets slowly back to his feet.
Lee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lee lands a left and a right that send Baltaretu crashing to the mat, dazed. Lee thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Baltaretu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lee is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Andrei Baltaretu's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

After winning the bout, Jun Fan Lee thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
