Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Kalivas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sloth Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sloth Peterson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eugene Kalivas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sloth Peterson!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalivas throws a leg kick that misses.

Kalivas moves into the clinch.
Kalivas scores with a nice hook to the head.
Kalivas tries to break the clinch but Peterson is controlling the position.
Kalivas gets underhooks to prevent Peterson's takedown attempt.
Peterson can't break the clinch.

Peterson breaks from the clinch.
A bone on bone clash there as Peterson blocks the leg kick.

Peterson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Peterson just content to control the position.
Peterson throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Peterson working away.
Peterson trying to control the position but Kalivas is working away.

Kalivas stops Peterson from passing to mount.
Peterson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Peterson tries to advance to mount but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Peterson throws a sloppy head kick and Kalivas moves out of range easily.
Kalivas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kalivas.
Kalivas throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Peterson thuds a left hand into Kalivas's body.
Kalivas is breathing heavily.
Peterson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Peterson tries to clinch but Kalivas moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Peterson takes the fight into the clinch.
Peterson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Peterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Peterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Kalivas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Peterson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Peterson is trying to keep Kalivas in close.
Peterson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Peterson throwing strikes but Kalivas bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Kalivas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Peterson landing some decent shots from guard.
Peterson trying to control but Kalivas is working from the bottom.
Peterson passes into half guard.

Peterson is working for a kimura but Kalivas is defending it quite comfortably.
Peterson is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sloth Peterson dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Kalivas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Peterson's waist but Peterson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kalivas off to one side.

Peterson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Peterson swings wildly with an uppercut but Kalivas uses good head movement to avoid it.
Peterson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kalivas smiles and moves away.

Peterson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Peterson is trying to control. Kalivas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Well, if Peterson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Peterson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peterson controlling the pace.
Peterson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kalivas keeps working.

Despite being in the dominant position, Sloth Peterson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A nice combination there by Peterson.
No luck for Peterson with that takedown attempt.
Peterson checks a leg kick.
Peterson shoots and misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Eugene Kalivas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sloth Peterson.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kalivas rushes Peterson and presses him up against the cage.

Peterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kalivas slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kalivas misses with a low kick.
Peterson looks to land a combination but Kalivas avoids it well.
Kalivas dips to his left and cracks Peterson with an uppercut!
Some wild striking there from Kalivas.

Peterson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Peterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kalivas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Peterson is stalling here. Kalivas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Peterson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kalivas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Kalivas decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Peterson looks to land a combination but Kalivas avoids it well.
Kalivas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Peterson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Peterson trying to control the pace.
Peterson trying to control from half guard but Kalivas is working away.
Peterson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kalivas kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Kalivas wants to get back to his feet.
Peterson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sloth Peterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Peterson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Peterson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kalivas defends it well.

Peterson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Peterson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kalivas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kalivas blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kalivas working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Peterson. Kalivas does a little dance to reset his feet.

Peterson closes the distance looking to clinch

and Kalivas counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kalivas.
Kalivas is pressed up against the cage. Peterson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kalivas down to the mat. Kalivas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A shot to the body from Peterson misses
enabling Kalivas to counter with a crisp jab.
Kalivas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Peterson is looking to clinch.
Kalivas's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kalivas duly obliges.
Eugene Kalivas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Peterson with a poor takedown

and Kalivas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Eugene Kalivas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sloth Peterson.
Kalivas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Peterson trying to hold on to Kalivas's head to control him but Kalivas postures up.

Kalivas stops Peterson from getting back to his feet.
Peterson wants to get back to full guard.
Peterson manages to get to full guard.
Kalivas is fighting to break Peterson's control of his arms but Peterson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Peterson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sloth Peterson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Peterson is trying to control the position but Kalivas postures up.
Kalivas trying to control the position from guard on top but Peterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kalivas looking to sit in guard and control but Peterson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Peterson gets to his feet. Kalivas looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Eugene Kalivas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kalivas throws a series of punches but Peterson moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Peterson.
Peterson misses with a takedown attempt

and Kalivas counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kalivas tries to score a body lock takedown but Peterson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kalivas is trying to break free.
Kalivas misses with a knee strike.
Kalivas trying to control the position but instead, Peterson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kalivas into the cage.

Peterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kalivas throws a right and a left that both miss.

Peterson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Sloth Peterson.
I've got Peterson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
