Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Smith (ranked 4090 p4p, 23875 weight class) and PotterStone Livingstone (ranked 436 p4p, 0 weight class). Livingstone has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Erwin Smith has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Smith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Smith lands with a punch from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Livingstone looks winded!
Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Smith manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Livingstone on his heels. He'll look to pass Livingstone's guard now, I'm sure.
Smith slips nicely into half guard.
Smith is taking a breather. Livingstone says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Smith content to control rather than advance.
Smith scores with a big shot! Livingstone's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Livingstone! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
