Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Hanna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hanna might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lunatic Fringe-Red Rider. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Hanna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Greene!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene dodges the punch combination from Hanna.
Hanna misses with a series of wild punches.
Hanna misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hanna tries to bum rush Greene with a series of wild strikes but Greene uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hanna throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hanna is trying hard to land a takedown here. Greene sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Greene shoots in and bounces Hanna off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hanna will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Greene stands and steps away. Hanna gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hanna throws a right hand that Greene ducks under and follows up with a left that Greene also avoids with ease.
Hanna is looking to clinch.

Hanna misses with a jab, cross combination.

Greene breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hanna takes a swing at Greene's ribcage but misses.
Greene avoids a punch combination nicely.

Greene shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hanna napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hanna throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Hanna is working to avoid the ground and pound but Greene connects with a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hanna fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hanna throws a right and a left that both miss.

Greene feints and as Hanna raises his hands in defense, Greene changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hanna is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Greene defends well.
Hanna is breathing heavily.

Greene gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dave Hanna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Greene changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hanna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hanna is trying to get back to his feet.

Greene cracks Hanna with a big elbow.
Hanna is trying to control Greene's posture but Greene avoids it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Greene decides to stand back up. Greene steps back and let's Hanna get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hanna throws a right and a left that Greene avoids nicely.

Greene shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Greene was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hanna is trying to escape the mount.

Greene goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hanna is on top in guard.
Hanna wants to pass the guard but Greene is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Greene dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Greene pushes Hanna off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Greene counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Greene takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Greene decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Greene.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hanna blocks a head kick by Greene.
Hanna misses with a series of wild punches.
A jab from Hanna misses.
Hanna uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Greene.
Greene moves out of range as Hanna strikes.
Hanna misses the shot to the body.
Hanna throws a combination that misses

and Greene decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hanna's guard.
James Greene has got the better of the ground game so far.

Greene stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Hanna misses with a shot to the body

and Greene counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Greene trying to control but Hanna is working from the bottom.

Hanna throws his legs up looking for a submission but Greene uses it to pass to side control.
Hanna tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Greene wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Greene is chipping away with strikes.

Greene decides to stand back up. Greene steps back and let's Hanna get back to his feet.

Hanna looks to land a combination but Greene avoids it well.
Hanna throws a left and a right that both miss

so Greene counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hanna has momentary wrist control but Greene slips an elbow through the middle.

Hanna is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Greene stands and steps away. Hanna gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Greene feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Greene gets to his feet - Hanna follows without any prompting.

and Greene counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hanna is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Greene has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hanna goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Greene rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hanna's guard! Nice work there by Greene!

James Greene showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Greene scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hanna to see if he's OK.

Greene wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hanna, who protects the arm well.
Hanna is looking for a sweep.
Hanna manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hanna wants to take a breather but Greene is having none of it.
Greene regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hanna.
Hanna tries to free his leg and advance position but Greene is retaining full guard.
Hanna has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Greene is adopting a defensive guard.

Hanna is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Greene is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Greene has escaped and now he's on top!

Greene gets to his feet. Hanna looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hanna lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Greene circles away quickly and effectively.

Hanna gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hanna has an active guard here but Greene has managed to pass into half guard.
Hanna is trying to maintain the position but Greene is very close to passing his half guard.
James Greene is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hanna has hold of Greene's hands but Greene slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Greene is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hanna is trying to get back to full guard.

Greene stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

James Greene comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Greene has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
