This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Rick Donkulus! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Grappling Panda!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Panda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Donkulus.
Donkulus sets himself, and Panda steps forward looking for the clinch! Donkulus avoids it this time.
Donkulus tries to clinch but Panda is having none of it.
Panda drives through and clinches with Donkulus against the cage.
Panda pulls Donkulus into guard.
Donkulus wants to pass the guard but Panda is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Panda has his hands on Donkulus's head, controlling the position.
Panda should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Panda can't keep his opponent in guard - Donkulus advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Panda tries to get to full guard but Donkulus has control of the leg.

Donkulus stalling away here and it's allowed Panda to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Donkulus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Panda swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Panda has Donkulus pulled in close to control his posture.
Donkulus drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Panda manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Donkulus has Panda in his guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Donkulus (0) vs (2) Panda

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Donkulus looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Panda not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Donkulus is looking to sweep but instead, Panda has passed into half guard.
Panda content to control rather than advance.

It looks like Panda might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Donkulus moves into full guard.
Donkulus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Panda content to stall in guard here.
Donkulus has his foot on Panda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Panda works his way back into a safe position though.

Donkulus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Panda defends it easily.
Donkulus tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Donkulus wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Panda has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Donkulus's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Donkulus is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Panda!
