PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lloyd Blue (ranked 1193 p4p, 2067 weight class) and Arthur King (ranked 152 p4p, 239 weight class). Blue comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey- When I Wake Up. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Lloyd Blue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Arthur King!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Blue counters with a lovely straight right hand!
King misses with a looping right.
As King tries to get set, Blue tries to push him back and clinch up but King manages to avoid the attempt.
Blue swings for the body but King moves out of range.
Blue misses with a low kick.
King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

King feints the counter takedown.
Blue blocks a jab.
Blue throws a front kick that sends King stumbling back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Blue.
Blue fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. King looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Blue slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Blue has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from King finds it's way round the side to connect with Blue's head.
Blue catches King with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

King is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

and King counters with a single leg into guard. Blue didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
King throws a strike but Blue rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

King has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Blue has passed into side control.
King seems a little lost for a moment, as Blue dominates the positioning.

King felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blue can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It looks like Blue has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Blue lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice takedown defense from Blue. No joy for King on that attempt.

King creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Blue sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
