The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontiainen connects with a single shot there.
Kontiainen feints and then cracks Evans's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Evans down.
Evans goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Paavali Kontiainen has been cut.
Kontiainen throws a looping overhand right but Evans ducks down to avoid it.

Kontiainen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Evans's half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
