The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brandt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Hanma's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hanma tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brandt wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hanma wants to control but Brandt postures up.

Brandt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hanma knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hanma tries to buck Brandt off but Brandt is having none of it.

Hanma takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Brandt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hanma is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rayan Brandt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
