PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Lucca Decker (ranked 5539 p4p, 4830 weight class) and Jukka Miettinen (ranked 565 p4p, 515 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucca Decker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jukka Miettinen!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miettinen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A little feinted left hand from Decker on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Miettinen throws a body punch but Decker moves out of range.
Miettinen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Miettinen lands a jab to Decker's midsection.
Decker thows a left - swing and a miss!

Jukka Miettinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Decker is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Miettinen feints and then cracks Decker's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Decker down.
Miettinen throws a leg kick which misses Decker's front leg but catches the back leg as Decker tries to avoid it.
Decker takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Miettinen throws a jab but it's blocked by Decker.
Miettinen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Decker appears to be looking for a big counter.
Miettinen throws the left hand but Decker avoids the punch easily.

Miettinen looks low and kicks high, catching Decker right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Miettinen throws a hook to the side of Decker's head but Decker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Miettinen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Decker is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Decker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Decker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Miettinen was well out of range. Poor timing from Decker.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Miettinen! But no joy.
Miettinen throws a front kick to the face that drops Decker face first to the mat! Oh, he's in big trouble! He's stumbling all over the place and has face planted into the ropes, causing the referee to call an end to the fight! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Front Kick). Jukka Miettinen!
