Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maksim Taranin (ranked 925 p4p, 806 weight class) and Uriel Tartarus (ranked 111 p4p, 101 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taranin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Tartarus!
Tartarus wants to get back to his feet.

Taranin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tartarus, who protects the arm well.

Taranin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tartarus is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Taranin breaks Tartarus's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Taranin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tartarus is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Taranin throws an elbow that misses. Tartarus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Taranin's guard. Nice move by Tartarus!

Tartarus is stalling in the full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tartarus stands up and waves to Taranin to follow him.

Tartarus takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Taranin shoots in and drives through. Tartarus sprawls well.
Tartarus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Taranin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tartarus defends well and Taranin ends up having to push Tartarus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tartarus breaks from the clinch.
Taranin shoots in looking for a takedown but Tartarus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Taranin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Taranin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tartarus looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Tartarus throws a sloppy head kick and Taranin moves out of range easily.
Taranin half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Uriel Tartarus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

It looks like Maksim Taranin has been cut.
Taranin throws a body punch but Tartarus moves out of range.
Tartarus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Taranin takes a swing at Tartarus's ribcage but misses.
A little jabbing left from Tartarus on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Tartarus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Taranin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Uriel Tartarus will probably get the nod.

Tartarus lands a big head kick that sends Taranin tumbling to the mat! Tartarus takes a step backwards and waves Taranin back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Taranin is rocked!
Taranin tries to get into range but Tartarus steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Taranin! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Tartarus scores the big KO victory!
