Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dominique Reyes (ranked 4095 p4p, 4081 weight class) and Nate Grothberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Grothberg!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grothberg shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grothberg is nestled in close to Reyes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Reyes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grothberg on the ground.

Grothberg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Reyes is bucking up trying to escape but Grothberg cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Reyes tries to close the distance and clinch but Grothberg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Grothberg in particular looking to stall.
